Andrea Trudeau, M.S.Ed., NBCT, is a self-proclaimed no-”shh" librarian who won the 2020 AASL France Henne Award. She currently is a Ph.D. student at Northern Illinois University in Instructional Technology with a focus in virtual reality and how it has the potential to both embody and extend Rudine Sims Bishop's concept of "Mirrors, Windows, and Sliding Glass Doors" for students. Andrea has 24 years of experience in education--all at Alan B. Shepard Middle School in Deerfield District 109. She has created and maintains an active learning commons that has become the heart of the school, embracing creativity, collaboration, risk-taking, and fun. Most importantly, she works diligently to help all those in her school community feel welcome, valued, and connected.
