Civil Discourse in a Digital World

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This workshop will provide an introduction to civil discourse, pedagogy, strategies, digital tools and resources, and lesson plans for classroom implementation. We’ll work through actionable strategies to take back to the classroom to help students construct sound arguments while remaining respectful to the ideas and opinions of others. This workshop will prepare you to teach students about empathy in a world where talking about race, religion, and politics is no longer something we can (or should) avoid. We'll tackle tough topics and think about how we interact with them with students in age-appropriate ways, both online and in person.
