Personalized Learning in a Mastery-Based Classroom

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Our students live in an on-demand world. Why not provide them with an on-demand education? Participants in this workshop will be able to transform their existing classes or school (regardless of subject or grade level) into a very personalized learning experience for their students using a mastery-based approach that allows for maximum student choice and helps build excellent relationships. Students experiencing a transparent mastery-based learning model receive clear learning targets, learn at their own pace, and get one-on-one attention whenever they need it (in class or even at home in their pajamas). Students demonstrate mastery of the curriculum through a series of formative assessments before they qualify to complete a summative assessment. Built in RtI methods enable the teacher and student to work through a seamless remediation process when necessary. This workshop utilizes many free technology tools available to both teachers and students to enhance learning and further engage students.
