Empowering students to take ownership of their learning begins with encouraging student voice in the classroom. There are numerous benefits to being an “active” class member, but it can be difficult for students to understand these benefits unless they have authentically experienced the value and power that comes from having a voice in and out of the classroom. Luckily, educational trends are moving towards expanding student voice, and there are various ways that teachers can encourage student ownership, but in a reflective, meaningful, and less intimidating way. Attendees will learn how to promote student voice in the classroom utilizing various digital resources including FlipGrid, PearDeck, G Suite for Education, and many more. Lets challenge our students to step up to the plate and amplify their voices to hit one out of the park. If we can help amplify their voice, opportunities for student growth - both personally and academically - are endless.
