In this session, participants will learn to create in-district PD training sessions online using G-Suite for Education apps, Google Sites and Google Classroom. The skills presented in this session also model online instruction design for teachers of any grade level to use in their classrooms when creating blended learning lessons. Participants should be familiar with G-Suite tools.

One of the biggest obstacles for teachers seeking professional development (PD) is time. With online PD, teachers can seek out PD at a time that works best. Bringing PD online also allows a greater time-frame than a traditional “sit-and-get” session. This makes it much easier to follow up with skills learned and measure how the PD skills have impacted student learning. Teachers can also seek out more relevant PD than traditional PD sessions which traditionally teaches one topic to all teachers. Thus leading to deeper meaning and more impact on classroom learning.
