Learning + Space = Redesigning Spaces that Reflect our Vision for Learning

What story about learning should our facilities communicate? Do the spaces students are educated in impact learning? What features in an environment impact learning most? What if we looked at spaces through a child’s eye and let them write the story? How can a change in spaces be collaborative and incremental? What happens when you engage a system in inquiry around these questions?

In this session, we will share our district’s journey rethinking learning spaces towards creating environments that are “adaptable and functional, inviting and comfortable, learner and learning centered.” Through modeling the way we used an inquiry process and design thinking principles to redesign library and classroom spaces, participants will walk away with both readily applicable zero cost ideas AND big picture process ideas for making future systemic changes.
