This half day workshop will give you the tools to start a yearlong initiative to inspire your school to practice digital literacy. Based upon Dr. Friesem’s five years research in public, charter, and private schools, this workshop will provide the practical methods and process to motivate teachers, administrators, and staff to join a school wide initiative to integrate digital literacy. Participants will be asked to customize the evidence-based model of a change management plan to their own context. With various techniques ranging from using LEGO®, mobile devices, collaborative online tools, and digital reflection, participants will experience how to lead a change in their school. By the end of the workshop, administrators, teachers, librarians, math and literacy coaches will be able to apply the tools. Methods and practices in their own educational setting.
