Virtual reality, electronics and computer aided design + manufacturing are frequently choices for discrete, usually disconnected, learning units or classes. In this workshop, we will expose participants to a tested case study project (implemented at multiple scopes, with multiple schools during the 2017-2019 school years) which connect all three learning areas for mixed-reality, design-oriented, project-based learning. Participants in the workshop will exercise their project design muscles learning how to use our project's technology framework to scaffold new narratives for unique mixed reality projects. In addition to developing one's understanding of how these emerging technologies + practices can effectively relate to each other for rich learning engagements, the workshop will demonstrate the use of tighter constraints for the the production of more open ended student solutions.
