Growing the STEM mindset requires modern learning spaces. As we look to craft STEM curriculum and instruction to prepare our students for college and careers, it is essential that they have an opportunity to learn in spaces that support this mindset. The tradition of desks and rows with a teacher directed classroom is inhibiting our progress to address the needs of all students. This presentation allows teachers and leaders to see best practices based on previous district success and brain research. Designing excellent learning spaces for STEM isn’t about decorating, but they are about having conversations about purpose and intentionality. Participants will leave with a variety of hacks and ideas that they can use to transform their classrooms and set in motion new STEM mindset for all students.
