As school IT departments drive to become more agile, efficient and secure, school IT leaders are turning to shared services in the cloud, allowing their teams better focus on the core mission of improving student achievement. In this AWS Session and Technical Deep Dive, Dr. Chad Stevens, former Texas K-12 Principal and CTO, will address questions key considerations before transitioning to a shared cloud infrastructure, key planning considerations regarding budgets, how schools are transitioning workloads from Cap-Ex to Op-Ex, discuss key-stakehold alignment, along with common K-12 workloads.  K-12 Solutions Architect, Kevin Mccandless, will deep dive into how the AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) works as he explains networking and security on AWS.  He will also walk through different options customers have around Computing, Storage and VDI on AWS.  Kevin will utilize the AWS console as he talks through some of the administrative tools and will walk through the admin setup of AppStream 2.0, one of our most popular services in K-12 education.
