Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
Learn to apply computational thinking skills in this hands-on workshop by designing, building, and programming your own robot. Develop skills in identifying and assessing computational thinking in your classroom. Participants will program LEDs, sensors, and motors with a micro:bit, Hummingbird robotics kit, and Birdblox (free app). All skills learned are transferable to other microcontrollers and programming languages. The workshop will also include examples of computational thinking across K-12 curriculum and launching points for designing your own lessons. Both the assessment tool and robotics kit were developed through NSF-funded research from 2005 to 2017. All skill levels are welcome, including absolute beginners. Participants are encouraged to bring a smartphone or iPad.
