Synchronous distance learning/classroom video conferencing would allow smaller school districts to share teachers to combat our teacher shortage. It could be the answer for larger districts to continue to offer low enrollment courses among buildings. High quality professional development activities without travel could remove the cost barrier for school districts. Participants will learn about the hardware and software requirements, costs, and implementation issues followed by a question and answer period.

I will walk you through my personal journey with technology in the classroom that started with Maker Space implementation and led me to finding new ways to use technology in my classroom. We will cover types of maker spaces, where to begin when implementing a maker space, and the goals of maker space. We will also quickly cover types of technology available for the classroom, how to integrate them into subject areas, and how to get them into your room!

This session is designed to get Schools started utilizing the Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC) tools to provide an accurate depiction of applications in use, information about that applications usage, contract information and the ability to do the “in house” application management and at the same time allow for external application usage information.
