Michele R Zimmerman is an artist, educator, and athlete.  Michele began her teaching and coaching career at McHenry High School in 1989 and has carried additional roles as a Class Sponsor, Mentor, Department Chair, Divisional Assistant, Art Club Sponsor, National Art Honor Society Advisor, and School Publicist. Michele earned her Bachelor's in Fine Arts and Art Education certification at UW-Parkside, followed by a Masters in Curriculum Development at Concordia University.  She has completed extensive training in Differentiated Instruction, Flipped Classrooms, Blended Learning, Personalized Learning, Content Area Reading, and has presented at both the state and national levels on Standards Based Grading, and Student Growth Assessments.  She is a member of the IEA, NAEA, IAEA, Grayslake Arts Alliance, Northwest Area Arts Council, and Americans for the Arts. Michele is currently teaching a stacked AP/Honors/Independent Studio Blended Art course and finishing a new course proposal for Social Emotional Learning with Art.
