Garnet Hillman

Garnet is an educational consultant and author who has extensively researched and implemented standards based learning, assessment, and grading. She spent three years as an instructional coach at Caruso Middle School in Deerfield, Illinois and fifteen years in the classroom as a World Language instructor prior to shifting to full time consulting. Garnet has worked with educators around the country and presented at a variety of conferences opening minds to the possibilities of a shift to healthier grading practices. Garnet is also a co-moderator of the weekly standards based learning chat (#sblchat) on Twitter.
