Melissa Ramlow has worked with educational technology for over 15 years; before entering the general education classroom she programmed and facilitated augmented communication devices with students on the autism spectrum. Now in the general education classroom, her classroom is nearly 1:1 (mixed Chromebook and iPads). She has helped her students navigate technology using the SAMR model using technology throughout the entirety of the school day. With a colleague, they have created a school-wide MakerSpace that will be used as informal after school club.
Her students have become very tech savvy; they have created movies using iMovie, websites using Google Sites, created physical relief maps with a multi-layered digital overlay, podcasts using Soundtrap, and much more.
