Michael Biondo (www.biondoteaches.com) began teaching Social Science in 2003 and started serving as an Instructional Coach in 2009 at Maine South High School. He teaches US History and coordinates student participation in the Chicago Metro History Fair, the local affiliate of National History Day. In his coaching role, he provides individual coaching for teachers, leads staff development, and co-directs a district action research program, the CLEAR Project, which began in 2011. He is a Google for Education Certified Trainer and a Cooperative Learning Trainer. He earned his BA in History at Dominican University. He has an MA in History from Northeastern Illinois University, and an MA in School Leadership from Concordia University Chicago, where he also recently began a doctoral program. Michael was named Illinois Computing Educators “Classroom Educator of the Year” in 2015 and the Illinois National History Day Senior Division “Teacher of the Year” in 2016.
